M98 is an intermediate spiral galaxy about
45 million light-years away in Coma Berenices, near to the 5m
star 6 Com. This is a large galaxy (the apparent diameter is
about 10') but because of relatively low surface brightness
it is not quite easy to take it's decent picture. I
think that (with my equipment) the result is not so bad. In
the photograph I also like those small and extremely distant
galaxies in the background, such as the
Abell 1499
cluster under M98. Small arrow
on the lower left side marks a quasar with z=2.46.
