NGC 4517 is an edge-on spiral galaxy located approximately 40 million light years away in the constellation of Virgo. Here shown with it's companion, much dimmer face-on blue spiral NGC 4517A. There are also many much smaller galaxies in the background, like the pair in the left upper corner.
