Galaxy cluster
Abell 262
is part of the Perseus-Pisces supercluster. Located in the
Andromeda, it is at a distance of about 220 million
light-years. The most prominent galaxy in the center is the
elliptical cd-galaxy
NGC 708, and the close
grouping around it is also known as
The Fath
(after astronomer Edward Arthur Fath, 1880-1959). It is also
interesting that the majority of bright galaxies here are
spirals (some 20 of them can be identified in the picture).
For relatively small scope this group represents a difficult object,
but after
all I am
rather satisfied.
